Thurgoona Solar and Battery Information Sessions

Following on from the successful 2017 Community Renewable Energy Forum, RAW Energy has partnered with the Thurgoona Community Action Group (TCAG) and Mondo Power to bring the Thurgoona community a solar power and battery offer.

Two sessions were held on 7th November and a total of 70 people attended. Further publicity with regard to the Mondo Power offer is planned and the offer will be available up until March 2019.. Members of RAW and the TCAG are encouraging people to spread the word about this ongoing offer. Anyone who is interested can contact Mondo Power direct on

During 2017, the Thurgoona Community Action Group (TCAG) raised the concept of a solar farm for the Thurgoona area. The Thurgoona/Wirlinga Precinct Plan provides for additional power sub-stations once an additional 4,000 homes are completed. The TCAG decided to pursue the feasibility of the concept and approached the Albury City Council, and also the local Member for Albury, Mr Greg Aplin, to seek support.

The TCAG recognised that the group would benefit from the work that RAW Energy has already done. RAW Energy welcomed this initiative and will provide information and support where possible.

Community Forum on Renewable Energy for Thurgoona, 30th November, 2017

The forum was organised by the Thurgoona Community Action Group with the support of RAW Energy and AlburyCity. 72 members of the Thurgoona community attended and it was facilitated by Tammy Atkins and Sue Gold. Speakers Bobbi, Matthew Charles-Jones and Mark Judd provided excellent content and food for thought and the audience was actively engaged with the subject matter. Listening to the questions and discussion afterwards indicated a desire by the community to move forward on this project. Links to the forum's presentations can be found here:
